Rather than launching yet another iPad mini
clone with
7.9-inch display, the latest
Newman F9 tablet is a 9.7-inch (1024 x 768)
device with built-in
3G.
Looking not unlike many other
Chinese tablets, Pipo’s in particular, the
Newman F9 measuring in at 240.5 x 188.5 x 10.5mm at
Chinese retail price of 1299 Yuan, roughly $214. Newman, like other
tablet makers, have decided to forgo processors from
Chinese makers Rockchips or Allwinner in favour of a
Mediatek MT8389
quad-core unit with built-in 3G, WIFI, GPS and Bluetooth. The SoC also has the added benefit of bring voice call support to the big
screen much like the Cube Talk9.
Newman have also added space for 16GB memory, 1GB RAM, dual-cameras, 32GB SD card, USB, HDMI out and 6000mAh battery. The new tablet will go on sale later this month and should be also available through international resellers.
