Viewsonic are quietly doing extremely well in the world of the
Android tablet thanks to there well priced devices featuring such great hardware as Tegra
CPU's and
IPS screens.
The latest edition to the Viewsonic family, the 10E is keeps the family tradition of a great
specification at a wallet friendly price. The Viewpad 10E is more of a premium Android
tablet when compared to their other offerings, but with that said the RRP is still likely to be much lower than similar devices from larger brands Apple, Motorola, HTC and Samsung.
As a premium
tablet the Viewsonic 10E is going up against a well known and tough
competition but with the
specification the 10E is sporting the Chinese
tablet should be able to hold it's own against the larger brands.
Screen techonlogy, for example, is the same as the
iPad's, meaning the 10E
features a 9.7-inch iPS panel for excellent viewing at all angles. The
CPU is a hardy 1Ghz Cortex A8, hardly super
fast but a well proven chip.
Other nice
features are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
3.0, micro USB
port, SD card slot, 1.3MP front camera, G sensors, built-in microphone, stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headset jack. There’s a mini HDMI port, but due to the lack of a powerful
processor, it can support only
720p video output.
Unlike other top of the range tablets though the Viewsonic 10E is still running Android 2.3
Gingerbread rather than the
tablet specific Android Honeycombe 3.0, which in our opinion is just fine as it is better supported.
