If you still haven’t bought yourself a large
screen Android phablet then you might want to give the
Orientphone H8 some serious thought!
After reviewing a few
octacore Android phones already this year I can safely say that (at this point in time) there is very little in the way of performance gain from the Mediatek 8-core over their
quad-core offerings. Of course Antutu is better, but real world use is identical!
That said though, if it were possible to buy an
octacore phone at
quad-core pricing I don’t see a reason for not choosing the newer
processor. This is exactly what the
Orientphone H8 offers!
At $243, the H8 is priced at the same level as similar
quad-core phones, but you will have some additional bragging rights when it comes to the
processor department. The rest of the spec is spot of for this price level and includes a 6-inch 720p
display, 2GB RAM,
32GB memory,
SD card, dual-SIM, 13 mega-pixel rear camera and 5MP front.
Design is similar to the
Samsung Galaxy Mega down to the physical home button between standard Android navigation buttons. More details can be found over on the
Orientdeal product page.
