The Vivo
X1, aka the world's thinnest
phone will be officially available for pre-order on the 14th November with
phone leave the factory and arriving in people's hands after the 20th! More
details after the jump.
As some of our readers (Martin) had recently spotted, the Vivo homepage has turned in to a large timer counting down to the launch of the Vivo X1 but although the countdown ends on the 14th November customers won't be able to buy the X1 until the 2oth when it officially launches.
Instead the countdown is counting the minutes down to one of my least favourite things in the world!! A pre-sale!!!!!
I don't have
details of how many
phones Vivo will have available for the pre-sale or how they are going to handle it, but what I do know is that the world's thinnest
phone (6.55mm) will be in high demand for the next few weeks (months?) or will it?
Although the x1 will officially be the worlds thinnest dual-core Android
phone and it will come with a healthy
specification and a pair of
quality headphones, I'm wondering if the high retail price might but customers off.
According to sources close to the Vivo
X1 launch, the dual-core version of the
phone (which uses an MT6577 CPU) could
cost as much as 2500 Yuan ($400) where as the quad-core Vivo X3 might
cost just 3000 Yuan or possibly slightly less ($480)!
- Pre-order the Vivo X1 over on their website here.
Although the X1 is a great looking phone with a quality specification and decent headphones, I can think of other phones I would feel much happier spending $300 on!
What do you guys think?
