vivo X500 Ultra Leak Reveals Camera Setup, While X500s May Get 68MP Selfie Camera

vivo may be preparing two camera-focused phones for 2027. A new leak claims the vivo X500 Ultra will have a 50MP selfie camera and three rear cameras, led by a 200MP sensor. The same tip also points to a future vivo phone with a square 68MP front camera.

Both phones are still in development, so their final specs may change. However, the leak offers a first look at vivo’s plans for its next flagship and a possible X500s companion.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the X500 Ultra is being tested with a 50MP main camera, a 50MP secondary camera, and a 200MP third camera. The exact roles of the two 50MP sensors have not been shared.

The 200MP camera is expected to handle telephoto shots. Earlier reports also point to a large sensor for this camera, which could help capture more light and improve image quality. These details remain unconfirmed.

The phone may use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip. Other leaks point to a 6.85-inch flat display with 2K+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. A battery between 7,000mAh and 8,000mAh has also been mentioned.

The same tip says vivo is testing a square front camera with a 68MP IMX05A sensor for a future S-series phone. The device could be the vivo X500s, which may launch alongside the Ultra.

A square sensor could offer more room for flexible framing, but vivo has not explained how it plans to use it. The camera is still at the testing stage, and its final specs may differ.

Recent leaks suggest the X500s could share some hardware with the Ultra. It may have a 6.85-inch flat screen with 2K+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate.

The vivo X500 Ultra and X500s are expected to debut in the first half of 2027, possibly around March or April in China. That timing has not been confirmed by vivo.
