WhatsApp is no longer playing a conservative game when it
comes to
adding new features to the messaging app. Today, the company is
improving the experience of group chats by adding three new features. These might not be groundbreaking features if you're waiting for a major revamp. However, we can still see that these are welcome additions to improve the overall usage in specific scenarios.
Member Tags, Text Stickers, and Event Reminders Now Available in WhatsApp Groups
The first feature is Member Tags. Basically, it allows you to give yourself a tag to tell the group what your role is. If you play a specific role inside the group, it might be an interesting way to differ from other users. In addition, this tag can be different for each group.
The next feature is the Text Stickers. WhatsApp is taking one further step in the way people can interact using stickers. Now, any word can be turned into a sticker simply by typing your text into Sticker Search. The newly created stickers can also be added directly to your sticker packs instead of having to send them in a chat first.
Finally, the next feature is dubbed "event reminders," and it's pretty much self-explanatory. When you create and send an event in a group chat, you can set custom early reminders for those you've invited. This gives users the ability to ensure that not as many people in a group will forget about important events.
New Quality of Life Features to Improve The Experience
Those are what we can call "quality of life" improvements for all who use the group features inside the platform. WhatsApp has been working hard to offer a deep and
complete experience for all those who decide to stick with the platform for their groups. What used to be a feature only for fun now offers a more complete experience, even for those who want to use it as part of their businesses.
