How long has the original
Xiaomi Redmi been on sale for? It feels like an eternity since that blocky low-cost Mi Phone launched, so how excited are we that leaks of a refreshed model have been spotted.
When the Xiaomi Redmi first launched it was a killer deal. With a 4.7-inch 720p display, 8 mega-pixel camera and powerful processor, the phone was all that most people wanted, and the price was great too. Since the original version the phone has been updated and now has a Qualcomm chip, but that is set to end with the all new model.
Belived to go on sale in Q4, the new Xiaomi Redmi will be a flagship
Mediatek phone. In other words a 1499 Yuan Mediatek
MT6595 phone with aspirations to tear up the Meizu MX4.
Sources the new Redmi will boast a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 display, 3GB RAM and 20 mega-pixel rear camera along with
LTE support.
New Xiaomi Redmi Leaked
The leaked
spy image above shows a the rear panel of the alleged device, which appears to have space for a dual LED flash and features the now famous Mi Logo.
Currently only Meizu and Zopo have octacore MT6595
phones on sale, but the Redmi flagship could really take pole position once launched.
