Xiaomi's Mijia floor cleaner lineup
gets a new entry on August 3. The
Mijia Wireless Floor Cleaner 5C launches at 999 yuan (~$150) in China, with subsidies already bringing it down to around 899 yuan. It follows last year's 4C model with three meaningful upgrades: stronger suction, triple anti-tangle technology, and hot-air drying that actually sanitizes the mop head.
Summary
- 18,000Pa suction: Up from 15,000Pa on the 4C — a 20% increase that makes a real difference on pet hair and stubborn dirt.
- Triple anti-tangle technology, TÜV certified: Three layers of hair and fiber management, independently certified to actually work.
- 60°C hot-air drying: Kills bacteria, removes odors, and prevents mold in the mop head — a hygiene upgrade the 4C lacked.
- 45 minutes of runtime: Covers up to 341m² on a single charge, enough for large apartments.
- On sale August 3 at 999 yuan (~$150): Available in China now; global availability unconfirmed but the 4C is already on Xiaomi's global website.
Three Problems the 5C Is Designed to Fix
Anyone who owns a wet-dry floor cleaner knows the three things that go wrong with them. First: suction that isn't strong enough for pet hair or heavy dirt. Second: the roller gets tangled with hair constantly, requiring manual cleaning. Third: the mop head stays wet after use and starts to smell.
The 5C addresses all three directly. The jump from 15,000Pa to 18,000Pa means the machine pulls harder on debris it previously would have left behind. The triple anti-tangle system — which earned its own TÜV certification rather than just riding on a general quality badge — handles hair from multiple angles simultaneously. And the 60°C hot-air drying keeps the mop head from sitting damp in the dock. Damp mop heads smell bad and grow bacteria. A hot-air cycle after each session eliminates both problems.
Quiet, Light, and Long-Lasting
The 50dB noise rating is notably quiet for a machine at this suction level — comparable to a normal conversation rather than a vacuum cleaner. Xiaomi also made the unit lighter than its predecessor, reducing fatigue during longer cleaning sessions. The 45-minute runtime and 341m² coverage figure are competitive with international rivals costing considerably more.
Will It Go Global?
No announcement yet. But Xiaomi's global website already lists the Mijia Wireless Floor Cleaner 4C — a strong precedent that the 5C will eventually follow. European and Indian buyers who want it now have the usual import options, but an official launch within six to twelve months is a reasonable expectation based on the 4C's trajectory.
