Xiaomi Ends Software Support for Several Redmi and POCO Devices

Xiaomi has updated its End-of-Support (EOS) list, meaning several Redmi and POCO smartphones will no longer receive official software updates. This includes HyperOS, Android updates, and security patches.

Which Devices Are Affected?

As of this month, the following smartphones are no longer eligible for software updates:

Redmi Note 11 SE
Redmi Note 11S 5G
Redmi Note 11S
Redmi Note 11
Redmi Note 11 5G
POCO M4 Pro
POCO X4 Pro 5G
Redmi 10C
Redmi 10 (2022)

This decision is especially disappointing for HyperOS 1.0 users, as these devices won’t get an upgrade to HyperOS 2.0.

What This Means for Users

With these devices added to Xiaomi’s EOS list, they will no longer receive:

Major Android updates
MIUI or HyperOS upgrades
Official security patches and bug fixes

Without security updates, these phones could be exposed to long-term security vulnerabilities. However, users may still be able to extend their device’s lifespan using custom ROMs like LineageOS and Pixel Experience.

Why is Xiaomi Ending Support?

Xiaomi generally provides 2-3 years of Android updates and 3-4 years of security updates. Since the Redmi Note 11 series and POCO X4 Pro 5G were released in 2022, they have reached the end of their update cycle.

Xiaomi prioritizes newer devices when rolling out updates, focusing on improved software features and better security for its latest models.

Keep using your phone but avoid sensitive operations (e.g., banking apps) due to security risks.
