854×480 resolution on a 6 inch screen? Fail.

Wow! Good catch! Fingers crossed it’s a typo! I double check now.

@popo @andi I’ve used dell streak 5″phone which got 480 x 800 and honestly I never felt that display is bad or useless.

In my opinion the display resolution is a over hype propaganda mainly by Americans, initially inspired by iphone owning Americans.

I’m saying this as many of my Russian and European friends never talk much on display as a compelling feature in a budget phone. But my American friend always crib about it. 🙂

I think resolution is one of those things you only miss once its gone. Like when I try to use an old iPhone after using a Retina display for so long.

    Hi again,

This prediction game and ‘wish listing’ is getting to be too easy !!

Strike another one for the 6 inch lists … hell no !! … strike 3 or 4 for the past day or so.

Soon, our Chinese friends will notice the reader’s poor comments about screen definition … and they’ll fix that; you can be sure.

I, too, have used a Dell Streak 5 for the past year – and I still use it every day. Every time I use it in public it still gets ‘oohhs and aahhs’ from passers-by.

When I’m asked to explain that it is 2 years old most users seem astonished … and when I say it has never missed a beat in that time I get story after story of their personal disasters with smartphones from all over the place.

Today’s ‘knock-offs’ have a rising habit of becoming 1 million unit sellers …

Maybe the Samsung Galaxy NOTE2 will be a ‘6 incher’ after all ?

    Watch this space.

Does it have the magnetic field sensor?
Which other sensors does it have?
Who is the manufacturer? What is the manufacturer web-site?

    G’morning,

My last comment here discussed the possibility that the Samsung Galaxy NOTE II just might turn out to be a 6 inch device. Some hopes !

    But I still LOVE IT.

Now along comes the Carpad !

    Two points …

    1. The screen resolution is ridiculously poor and there’s no chance IMHO that it will succeed.

    2. On the good side … the overall size of this device means that it will EASILY fit into any number of various pockets … male or female shoulder bags etc. etc.

Sad person that I am … I made a cardboard replica of an early Samsung ‘7 inch’ device – and this has sat on my desk for over a year. In that time the 7 inch tablets genre / type of tablet has become slightly smaller – and they ALL now fit into my jacket inside pocket.

The CARPAD, here shown, will easily do the same … and that’s why I have been banging on about “6 inch” devices being the IDEAL TABLET FORMAT … for the past 9 months or so !!

Way to go for the 6 inch format !!!

I like the idea of 6 inch phones. 7″ is too big for a phone. 6″ is perfect. I own dell streak 5. I have been using it for close to 2 years now. It is amazing phone. Dell made a poor job of commercialising it. The phone, however, is the best phone ever made. I owned iphone, samsung, etc. Dell streak 5 is the best phone.
