The phone to look forward to in 2014..hope it performs well enough when actually put to market..after all high specs alone do not make a good phone.

Well this just keeps getting better, so many great phones coming out at the moment it’s making it impossible to decide what to go for! I thought this was supposed to have a 13mp camera? Also, I thought the 801 only supported upto 21mp?

it won’t. unless they get Qualcomm to make a custom version of the 801. And why bother doing that? They 805 is just around the corner!

Lets hope they get a decent Battery into there, don’t make it too much larger than 5,5 Inches and that ffs its Dual SIM. Those would be the most important additions I would have. Then even $350 or more is fine.

I have a vivo xplay and while it’s a great phone the funtouch OS is just really bad. The UI is very much customised for the chinese market and a lot of apps and controls are in chinese only. I also have the oppo find 5 and the UI for that is a lot lot better and I actually prefer it over the samsung and sony UI. That’s the reason why vivo doesn’t really market their high end phones to international markets I think they’re content to catering to 1 billion potential chinese customers. I’d root my phone and install another OS like cyanogen mod for it but the audio chip on the phone only works with their own OS and I don’t want to lose the great sound the phone has.

Nova launcher? Action launcher? How about Buzz launcher?

Agreed, they should take a play from their sister-companies (Oppo and OnePlus) and officially offer CM11 as a second OS option!

Hmmm.. Snapdragon 801 isn’t listed a specs they leaked, and due to the 24MP camera, the 801 doesn’t make sense. The 801 only supports up to 21MP cameras. But… the Snapdragon 805 supports up to 55MP cameras.

Since this phone isn’t shipping that soon. Perhaps they’re using a Snapdragon 805, or a Tegra K1 (maximum resolution 32MP), or something else.

But I really doubt they can use a Snapdragon 801 with a 24MP camera.
