POCO F8 Pro Gets HyperOS 4 as Xiaomi Starts Global Rollout

Xiaomi News
HyperOS-4-Global
Xiaomi has started its global HyperOS 4 rollout today, and the POCO F8 Pro is one of the first phones to get it. The update comes with firmware version OS4.0.2.0.XPKMIXM and a size of around 8.4 GB.
This marks the start of the stable global release after Xiaomi's earlier beta program, and the china release. The company has also published a list of devices that will receive the update in the coming weeks. Not every Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO phone will get it at the same time though.
For POCO F8 Pro owners, the update brings a new interface and several system changes. It also raises questions about which of Xiaomi's latest AI tools will work outside China.

POCO F8 Pro Receives the First Global Build

It has the version number OS4.0.2.0.XPKMIXM. Reports put its download size at around 8.4 GB, making it a large update for a phone.
HyperOS 4 brings a redesigned look called Soft Light Glass. It uses new light effects, updated visuals and changes to the system interface. Xiaomi has also worked on the lock screen, widgets and home screen options.
But the update is not just about appearance. Xiaomi has also said it has improved how the system handles memory and runs apps. These changes aim to make the phone feel smoother during daily use, even after running for a long time.

Xiaomi Promises Smoother Performance and New Features

Xiaomi says HyperOS 4 can reduce delays when opening apps and improve scrolling. The company also reports fewer dropped frames during video playback, but that comes from them, so wait before seeing an independent tester.
The new system also brings changes to Xiaomi's AI tools. These include better voice notes, speech recognition and tools that can turn spoken information into tasks. Some features can also help users organize notes and find information.
However, global users may not get every AI feature shown in Xiaomi's announcements. Some tools rely on services designed for the Chinese market. Xiaomi has not clearly confirmed that all of them will work on the global POCO F8 Pro build.

More Xiaomi Phones Will Get HyperOS 4 Soon

The POCO F8 Pro is not the only phone on Xiaomi's update list. The first rollout group also includes devices such as the Xiaomi 17 series, POCO F8 Ultra and several Redmi Note 15 models.
Xiaomi plans to expand the release in stages. More phones and tablets are expected to receive it from mid-November, while another group is scheduled for December. The exact timing can still change depending on the device, region and carrier.
This means owners should not expect the update to arrive on every supported phone today. Xiaomi says its schedule is an estimate, and the order of devices on the list does not confirm the exact release order.

How to Check for the New Update

POCO F8 Pro owners can check for HyperOS 4 by opening Settings and selecting About phone. From there, tap the HyperOS version section to look for available updates.
Since the reported download is around 8.4 GB, it is best to use a stable Wi-Fi connection. Users should also make sure their phone has enough free storage and battery before starting the installation.
The global rollout is now underway, but availability will depend on the device and region. If the update does not appear yet, owners may need to wait for Xiaomi to release it to their specific software variant.
