Poco held a launch event in Bali, Indonesia to introduce the new POCO F8 Ultra and POCO F8 Pro. The brand is positioning both devices as affordable flagships, but each one targets a different type of power user. As expected, they're both based on the Redmi K90 and K90 Pro Max.
The highlight here is the combination of premium specs, long software support and audio tuning developed with Bose.

Poco F8 Ultra

The POCO F8 Ultra leads the series with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It also uses Poco’s VisionBoost D8 co-processor and a large 6,700 mm² vapor chamber that helps keep temperatures in check during long gaming sessions.

The phone features a 6.9-inch AMOLED panel with a sharp 1.5K resolution, a peak brightness of 3,500 nits and an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. Bezels stay thin and the security is handled by an ultrasonic fingerprint reader under the display.

Powerful Camera Package

On the back, the F8 Ultra carries a triple camera setup built around a 50MP Light Fusion 950 main sensor with optical stabilization and a 1/1.31-inch size. It is accompanied by a 50MP periscope camera with 5x optical zoom and a 50MP ultrawide lens. The front has a 32MP selfie camera.

Audio is one of the unique selling points. Poco added a rear woofer that works with the stereo speakers, creating a 2.1 configuration that has been tuned with Bose for better clarity and depth.

A Slight Downgrade in Battery Capacity

The battery comes in at 6,500 mAh with support for 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. It's still a great capacity, but a small downgrade over the Chinese K90 Pro Max with its 7,500mAh Battery. The phone runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 and integrates several AI tools through Google Gemini. Poco promises four years of major updates and six years of security patches.
You also get an IP68 rating, eSIM compatibility and a metal frame. Color choices include Denim Blue and Black.

Poco F8 Pro

The POCO F8 Pro sits slightly below the Ultra. It runs on the previous Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and uses Poco’s 3D triple-layer IceLoop cooling system to manage heat more efficiently.

The display is a 6.59-inch AMOLED LTPS panel with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone keeps the same premium build quality with a metal frame and a matte glass rear finish.
The camera setup includes a 50MP Light Fusion 800 main sensor with OIS, a 50MP telephoto lens with 2.5x optical zoom and an 8MP ultrawide camera. On the front, there is a 20MP selfie shooter.

A 6,210 mAh battery powers the device and supports 100W fast charging. Other features include IP68 protection, ultrasonic fingerprint scanning, Bose audio tuning and eSIM support. It also ships with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 and carries the same software update commitment as the Ultra.
