HONOR may be preparing a smartphone that can last an entire week on a single charge. A new leak suggests the company is testing batteries with capacities between 14,000mAh and 15,000mAh, pushing smartphone endurance to a new level.
The battery is reportedly in trial production, although HONOR has yet to confirm its plans. The company is also said to be using a high-density design to keep the phone from becoming too thick or heavy.

Summary

  • HONOR is reportedly testing smartphone batteries with capacities between 14,000mAh and 15,000mAh.
  • The new battery could offer up to a week of use on a single charge, depending on usage.
  • HONOR already offers phones with batteries as large as 12,070mAh.
  • The upcoming device could belong to the Power or Win RT series, but its identity remains unconfirmed.
  • Battery thickness, phone weight, charging speed, and launch date are still unknown.

HONOR keeps pushing battery capacity higher

HONOR has already made big steps in battery technology. Its latest Win RT 2 and Win Turbo 2 phones, launched in China in October, both feature 12,070mAh batteries.

The company also introduced the X80 Pro Max with an 11,000mAh battery earlier this year. That phone completed a battery test lasting more than 26 hours during a live stream, showing just how much endurance a large battery can offer.
Moving to 14,000mAh or even 15,000mAh would be another major jump. However, battery capacity alone does not guarantee a full week of use. Screen brightness, gaming, mobile data, and background apps all affect how quickly a phone runs out of power.

Which HONOR phone could get this battery?

The leak does not reveal the name of the upcoming device. HONOR could use the new battery in a future Power3 or Win RT3 model, but neither option has been confirmed.
The high-density battery design could help HONOR avoid the bulky phones we might expect from such a large capacity. Still, the company has not shared details about the phone's weight, thickness, charging speed, or launch date.

My take: Battery life could become a real selling point

I like where HONOR is heading with this technology. Most smartphone upgrades focus on faster chips and better cameras, but battery life remains one of the biggest everyday concerns.
A phone that lasts several days without charging would be genuinely useful, especially for travelers and people who spend long hours away from power outlets. However, I would rather see a slightly smaller battery in a comfortable phone than a huge cell that makes the device difficult to carry.
If HONOR can deliver that balance, a 15,000mAh phone could be more than just an impressive number on a spec sheet.
