VK are another up and coming electronics giant from China who are out to make a name for themselves in Europe. Take a look at what they currently have to offer.

2014 has been the year when Chinese smartphone companies have finally decided it is time for them to spread their wings and begin the migration to new markets. We have seen Xiaomi enter more Malaysian markets and Meizu turn up in France and Italy, but it is other smartphone makers who are really concentrating on new markets.

VK are one of these brands looking to make fame and fortune, and have already started to establish themselves as in Spain by offering low-cost Android phone alternatives to the likes of UMi, JiaYu and Zopo. The company currently have 3 devices available including 2 Android smartphones and an Android tablet, details below.

VK A88

The VK A88 is VK’s entry level Android smartphone with a dual -core MT6572 processor, dual sim support and 4.7-inch QHD 546 x 960 display. The phone is designed to be as affordable as possible while remaining attractive so it comes as no surprise to see a design similar to the Huawei Ascend P6 to keep the phone looking good. What is nice is that although the phone has just a dual-core processor the batter is a 2300mAh unit, usually this is an area where a company will save a little money but VK have done things right here.

According to the specifications of the VK A88 the rear camera is an 8 mega-pixel unit with a d 2 mega-pixel sensor up front, however we are not sure if these are interpolated or in fact the ratings of the sensor.

GizChina.es have already had some hands on time with the VK A88 which you can see here.

VK500

Next in the range is the VK500, a mid range smartphone running a solid, if not thrilling, specification. In this case the processor has been updated to a 1.3Ghz quad-core MT6582 unit, the screen has been enlarged to 5.5-inch but with the same QHD resolution, and RAM is 1GB.

Oddly VK have downsized the battery on the VK500 to a 1700mAh unit, but have retained dual SIM WCDMA 3G support, an 8 mega-pixel camera and updated the front to a 5 mega-pixel sensor.

VK765 Tablet PC

Continuing the affordable device theme is the VK765 Android tablet with 7.85-inch 1024 x 768 resolution, 8GB of internal memory and a dual-core 1.5Ghz Allwinner A23 processor. The gold backed tablet also has an 8 mega-pixel main camera, 2 mega-pixel front and 6000mAh battery.

Interestingly dual-SIM WCDMA 3G support is also included on the VK765 meaning that the mini tablet should be able to make phone calls, send messages and enable browsing the web while outside and away from WIFI connections. GPS is also on board for when you need helping getting on track.

As mentioned above VK are already promoting their phones and tablets in Spain and plan to launch their devices in the rest of Europe and Russia over the course of the year. For more details of VK’s product line up take a look at their official website VKworld.cc.
