Huawei Expands HarmonyOS 7 Rollout to More Phones

Huawei is expanding its HarmonyOS 7 rollout to more of its smartphones. The Mate 80, Pura 90, and nova 16 series are among the first phones to receive the new system. Huawei has been releasing HarmonyOS 7 to supported devices in stages since September 7.

The latest update adds new tools that can help the phone understand information on the screen. It also brings changes to the way some parts of the system look and work.

Huawei says HarmonyOS 7 includes changes to system performance, smart features, security, and the way users interact with their devices. The company is also bringing the update to other phones, tablets, computers, watches, and other devices.

The Mate 80, Pura 90, and nova 16 series were already part of the first group of phones approved for the HarmonyOS 7 public beta. Huawei's official list also includes the Mate 70 series, Mate X7, Mate X6, Pura 80 series, nova 15 series, and several other models.

The new software is also meant to improve the way some parts of the system look. Huawei says it has worked on display effects and system animations in different parts of the interface. The update also brings changes aimed at making the system more stable during everyday use.

Huawei is not sending HarmonyOS 7 to every supported device at once. The company is using a staged rollout, with more models joining the list over time.

For example, Huawei plans to start the HarmonyOS 7 beta for the Mate 60 series and Mate X5 series in October. Other supported devices will follow as Huawei continues testing the software.

The Mate 80 series has also received smaller HarmonyOS 7 updates. One update, version 7.0.0.107 SP8, was released on September 17. It brought improvements to the camera, Control Center, calls, and overall system stability.

This means users may see different HarmonyOS 7 versions depending on their phone model. Huawei is also likely to keep sending smaller updates as it works on bugs and improves the system.

Users with a supported Huawei phone can check for the update through the software update section in Settings. The exact features and update version can vary between models, so not every phone will receive the same changes at the same time.
