What Bugs Is Xiaomi Fixing in HyperOS 4 on the Xiaomi 17 Series?

A Xiaomi employee has shared a summary of recent HyperOS 4 bug fixes in the company's community. According to IT Home, the changes will gradually appear in future system and app updates. The exact timing depends on the phone model and its software version.

The stable version of HyperOS 4 began rolling out in China on October 15. The rollout later expanded to more devices, including the Xiaomi 17 Max and Xiaomi 17T. The latest report lists 13 issues across four models. The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, Xiaomi 17 Pro, Xiaomi 17, and REDMI K90.

This is not one major update that fixes everything at once. Instead, Xiaomi is working through specific problems over several software releases.

The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max has the most issues on Xiaomi's list. In HyperOS 4.0.5.0, automatic tasks sometimes failed to start correctly. Version 4.0.4.0 also had problems with the Xiaomi Video app when playing videos in landscape mode.

Other bugs affected the global search interface and floating keyboard. Line breaks also lost their formatting in some notes. WeChat occasionally froze, while the Gallery app sometimes crashed during photo editing.

Seven reported issues on a single phone are worth noting. However, Xiaomi has not said whether all these fixes will arrive in one update or across several releases.

The Xiaomi 17 Pro had several bugs in version 4.0.5.0. The app store sometimes froze. The calculator showed its history incorrectly, and the browser crashed.

The regular Xiaomi 17 also had a camera bug. In version 4.0.5.0, rear camera photos sometimes looked blurry. Version 4.0.4.0 also had a problem with the global search menu.

The REDMI K90 had another bug in version 4.0.4.0. Its Xiaomi Mall app did not always show the right screen.

Xiaomi says these four phones are only examples. If other models have the same bugs, the company plans to fix them too.

The list names three apps: WeChat, Xiaomi Video, and Xiaomi Mall. These apps are mainly used in China. This means their fixes will matter most to people with Chinese phone models.

Other fixes may also help users in other regions. These include camera bugs, calculator errors, keyboard issues, and problems with global search.
