A new leak points to the largest battery Xiaomi has ever put in a phone. That would be a big step for a brand that already leans on large batteries. A leak by Digital Chat Station, a tipster with a good track record, says Redmi is testing a 7-inch device with a rated capacity of 40.72Wh. That equals about 11,000mAh. Many fans think it is the Redmi Turbo 6 Max, but the name is not confirmed. Treat every detail as a leak.

A 7-inch 2K screen and a Dimensity chip
The leak describes a 7-inch 2K display with a high refresh rate. The processor is a MediaTek Dimensity chip, but the exact model is not named. Earlier leaks pointed to a Dimensity 9-series chip. Redmi seems to aim this phone at gaming and heavy use. For comparison, the Redmi Turbo 5 Max has a 6.83-inch screen and a 9,000mAh battery. The new phone would bring a bigger display and a battery about 22% larger. It would also be one of the largest non-foldable Redmi models.

The battery
Earlier reports spoke of a 10,000mAh cell, and one leak even mentioned 12,000mAh in testing. The latest figure sits between the two, so the final number may still change. A battery this size could give heavy users more than a day of power. In my view, battery size is now a better reason to upgrade than another camera bump. Most buyers care more about reaching the evening than about extra megapixels. Large cells also add weight and thickness, and the leak says nothing about charging speed.

Launch timing and global chances
Reports point to a launch in China in January 2027, or at least in the first quarter. One report suggests a global release under the Poco name, possibly as the Poco X9 Pro Max. That is a rumor, and Xiaomi has not confirmed it. Digital Chat Station also says a separate 7-inch mid-range phone with a battery above 10,000mAh has reached the mold-opening stage. That phone is aimed at mid-2027.
What buyers should do
Wait for official specs before planning an upgrade. Check the weight, the thickness and the charging speed, because a huge battery means little if the phone is heavy or slow to charge. Battery life also depends on chip efficiency and software, so capacity alone does not matter that much. Tipsters also expect more phones with 7-inch screens and ten-thousand-level batteries in the first half of 2027. Capacity figures often shift before launch, and prices are unknown. If your current phone struggles to last a day, this wave may be worth waiting for.
