Honor’s next number-series phones could offer more power than expected. A new leak claims the standard Honor 700 will use the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, while the Honor 700 Pro will step up to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5.
The phones are expected to launch in China this month. Honor has not confirmed the chip details, but the leak suggests the company is aiming for strong performance across the range.

Two Snapdragon 8 chips for the Honor 700 series

Tipster Digital Chat Station says Honor is planning what it calls a “dual 8-chip” lineup. This means two different Snapdragon 8-series processors across the range, not two chips inside one phone.

The standard Honor 700 is tipped to use the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. The Pro could get the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. If these details are correct, the Pro may have an edge in demanding games and other heavy tasks.
The timing could also help Honor stand out. The standard Oppo Reno 17 is rumored to use the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, while the Vivo S70 may share the Honor 700’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4.

Rear screen, zoom camera, and a big battery

Earlier leaks point to a 6.57-inch 1.5K OLED display and a small 1.72-inch screen on the back. The rear display could help users take selfies with the main camera and check alerts without turning on the main screen.
The camera setup may include a 200MP main sensor. The Honor 700 Pro could add a 50MP periscope camera for better zoom. Both phones are also said to support a 200mm telephoto extender.
Battery life may be another strong point. The series is rumored to pack batteries rated at around 9,000mAh. The Pro may also support 50W wireless charging, while 3C certification points to wired charging speeds of up to 80W.

My take

The Honor 700 series sounds promising because it may combine fast chips, large batteries, and useful camera features. The rear screen is also a feature that could help the phones stand apart from rivals.
Still, specs alone do not guarantee a great phone. I’ll be watching the final prices, camera quality, and how well Honor makes use of that rear display. Those details will matter just as much as the processor.
