10K ASUS Zenfone units to go on sale via Flipkart today

Among the biggest competitors to the Xiaomi Mi 3 in India is the ASUS Zenfone 5, which also happens to be a fresh launch in the country.

Xiaomi have, however, been at the receiving end of some criticism after supplies failed to meet demand through the first 3 rounds of sale. In charge for Xiaomi’s international expansion, Hugo Barra even apologized to the Indian fans after the last sale.

The Zenfone 5, on the other hand, has been getting some rave reviews primarily for the exceptional value for money proposition it brings on board. With 2GB RAM and an Intel Atom SoC, the Zenfone 5 goes for a starting price of just 10,000 INR ($163) making it one of the more sought-after devices in recent times.

To exploit the void that’s created by the lack of Xiaomi Mi 3 supplies, ASUS will be pushing 10,000 units of the device for sale today, i.e., August 9 via its retail partner Flipkart.

Would you settle for something like the Zenfone 5, or do you happen to be from the patient lot that would wait for the Mi 3?
