Elephone have fallen in to the old trap of leaking to early. After learning a lot about the upcoming Elephone P7000 is looks like the 64bit phone won’t release until May.
We’ve learned plenty about the Elephone P7000, in fact we know all it’s hardware specifications and even know what the phone will look like once it goes on sale. As a recap here are the feature highlights of the phone:
- 5.5-inch 1080 display,
- 64bit MT6752 SoC,
- 3GB RAM,
- Dual SIM,
- 3450mAh battery,
- Fingerprint reader,
- LTE,
On paper the P7000 sounds fantastic and if Elephone can launch the phone at their target price of $200 then it is really going to upset the JiaYu S3 and iOcean MT6752. In fact it is this promised low-price which we believe might be one of the factors that is delaying production of the phone.
While larger companies such as Xiaomi can afford to make minimal profit on phones at launch and earn more over time as component costs drop, Elephone and smaller phone makers are sometimes forced to wait for hardware prices to drop first.

At $200 the P7000 would cost as much as the JiaYu S3 with the addition of a larger battery and fingerprint reader, and would be as much as $50 less than the iOcean MT6752 Rock!
Are you happy with this longer than expected wait to ensure a low price, or are you willing to pay extra to get the phone on the market right away?
What sort of joke is Elephone trying to make? They are just waiting for prices to drop the more. That said, it doesn’t make sense making potential customers wait for 6 months (or more) before u actually try and put the product in their hands. With this news on P7000, I guess we should be expecting the P8000 towards the end of the year then. Terrible plans Elephone

I couldn’t wait. I ordered the Kingzone Z1 yesterday. Elephone took way too long, like the one poster mentioned it was first revealed back in December and now maybe not actually selling till May – ridiculous
May i ask ,from where did you order it ? is it you first purchase from this site? Did you own King zone before?
I ordered from Everbuying and I have not used them before. I have not owned a Kingzone before so a little hesitant but it seemed to have good specs, good price and early reviews looked favorable

If the waiting time till launch is anything like their P1000 that was supposed to launch last October, we won’t be seeing this until sometime next year. Elephone should rebrand themselves as Elejoke!
I just hope it will have 850 band for 3G. I like the Jiayu S3 but it’s no good for me because of the lack of 850
Elephone is notorious for over promising and under-delivering. They had planned on introducing a P4000 several months ago which was supposed to be based on the Mi4. Now they took the same name for and applied it to a totally different design. So many MT6752 based phones now competing with eachother – it’s tough to make the right choice. If a FHD screen is a must, the Lenovo K3 Note looks like a great deal but if HD is good enough, the Mlais M52 Red Note looks like an even better deal.
…I guess this means the P8000 is going to be late as well?
