Xiaomi Mi Note 2 could be Xiaomi’s first all metal device

xiaomi mi note 2

Xiaomi made a switch to metal with the Mi4, now new details claim that their next gen Mi Note 2 could feature an all metal design.

All metal phones are nothing new. HTC have been making them tor years, the latest iPhones are all metal as are the new Meizu devices, and even Elephone have full metal phones coming soon.

So far though Xiaomi don’t have an all metal design, but this might be changing with the launch of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2. The current Mi Note comes with an alloy chassis and gorgeous 3D glass rear panel, however a new model is due early 2016 with an all new build.

Gizchina News of the week

Despite getting a full alloy construction we don’t expect the 2nd gen Mi Note to see an increase in screen size. Source are claiming the new flagship will feature a 5.7-inch Sharp sourced 2560 x 1440 2K display. Qualcomm are again going to be on board but with their latest Snapdragon 820, and we can expect 4GB RAM (at least) and 32GB memory, however a camera upgrade to 16 mega-pixels is on the cards.

Those rumours of Qualcomm ultrasonic fingerprint technology are back again too. Ultrasonic fingerprint scanners can be integrated beneath the display of a phone meaning a simple touch of the panel will unlock the device negating the needed for separate sensor or buttons.

More Xiaomi Mi Note 2 leaks are sure to turn up over the coming months to stay tuned.

Yup, and that way negating the usual desire of the international buyer in a cheaper nicely made Chinese phone. :-l

yup, but don’t expect other phones with the same features to cost less than that.

I agree… just that we have the ZUK z1 now and everything else i compare it to IT. is so near to a perfect, perfect flagship, IF people at ZUK know any better they should be preparing a nice time for the Z1 to relax and maybe a have Z2 come after with some nice upgrades to it 1. a better back camera (OIS+Phd AF) 2. 4gb DDR4 ram and 3. a Hwauei or Mediatek SoC, that keeps similar power but acomodates to keep price RAtio relevant and maybe similar to the Z1, is it to much or do you think they migth go the way of the Iphone of no Sd-card reader and no nothing…

i wouldn’t call the Zuk Z1 a perfect flagship since it’s almost identical to the OPO but 1 year later (which is a huge amount of time in this field)

despite that, i praise the direction that they took, which it was very smart and for that reason OnePlus is going to take the same approach with their new device .

But let’s not forget what happened this year: a failed Qualcomm SoC and a not very Flagship SoC from Mediatek.

if the SD810 came out well like they were hoping then there would have been no room for Zuk and their SD801.

for this reason i don’t know if they can take the same approach with the Z2.
I mean, once the SD820 and the X20 will be out what Zuk is going to use? still the SD801? the SD810?
          doesn’t make any sense.

But hey, they did great considering it was they first year, so i won’t be surprised if they keep doing well, just like LeTV.
definitely to keep an eye on them.

I would call the Zuk a perfect “last year” flagship. Which is the reason I would be hesitant to buy one. It doesn’t really offer anything substantial that the OnePlus One or Mi4 didn’t.

yes i agree. they add a fingerprint scanner and a slightly bigger battery.

but this year was different, so there’s plenty of room for phones like this one.

next year? they have to invent something different.

I do for one thing, (call me odd if you need to) I like to have Physical buttons in my electronic devices. I mean more than the power button. And if a fingerprint reader can also help me out if needed, then I’m all into not really paying top dollar for On-Screen security… Its just me saying…

Anyone who follows me here knows I am one of Xiaomi’s biggest fanboys, but lately I haven’t been that impressed with them. Hopefully when the SD820 is released we get some news of a Mi5, instead of another Mi4 with a different SoC.

i haven’t been impressed by anyone this year, and not just Chinese phones.
besides Samsung there’s really nothing out there.

if we look at the Chinese market i would say:
“where’s Nubia, where’s Oppo, where’s Vivo or Oneplus?”

I’ve only been impressed by LeTV especially because this was their first year.

speaking of Xiaomi, they impressed me with how aggressively priced their new Redmi Note 2, which is in my opinion the best value phone of 2015.

and i have a feeling that their MI5 is going to be mind blowing.
that’s why I’m waiting few more months before getting a new phone.
      if I’m wrong then I’ll get either a G4 or Moto X.

I agree with you Vivo and Oppo have been strangely quiet this year, where is the follow up to the Xshot?? Where is the Find 9? What happened to brands like iNew and THL. Yea I won’t buy a new phone till I see what the Mi5 offers, if it doesn’t blow me away I’ll probably get the MX6.
