ELEPHONE S3 Grey

April phone launches have just increased by another one, with the announcement that the Elephone S3 will roll out to stores in April.

The Elephone S3 looks set to be one of the better looking, (and made) Elephone devices launched to date. Elephone have worked on a new all metal unibody design and are confident that customers will be impressed with how the new phone feels in the hand.

Colour options for the phone now include Grey, in addition to Silver, Gold and Rose Gold, and specifications retain the same 5.2-inch FHD display, 13 mega-pixel rear camera, 3GB RAM and Mediatek MT6753 as before.

Gizchina News of the week

The phone will come with 16GB RAM (with micro SD card expansion), 2100mAh battery, fast charging and a fingerprint scanner.

Even with quick charging the choice of battery size is perplexing.

The SoC choice is weird too. I can see other manufacturers using 6753 because they dont have software for P10 developed yet, but Elephone already used it so this is beyond my reasoning abilities…

Mediatek provides the sw with the soc, so it really isn’t a problem for anyone to develop the os… Don’t fall for that, everyone still using the 6753 is doing that only because it’s cheap as hell

It’s a cost issue. They use that soc to keep the price down. 99 percent of mobile users are fine with even a mt6735

Most people don’t realize the budget SoC’s of today are more than powerful enough to do what they need on a day to day basis. They fall for the marketing and hype of Qualcomm.

switch out the SoC for a X10 (which should be cheap atm) and we’ll have a winner !

Nothing wrong with that SoC for most phone buyers it is more than powerful enough. You’re post should read: Unfortunately, Elephone.

With 2100 if it charges in anything under 35 minutes it is a complete fail.

Another aimless phone in a market about to pop Helio X20’s out. Elephone haven’t even supplied some Vowney customers yet

“The Elephone S3 looks set to be one of the better looking, (and made) Elephone devices launched to date.”

Seems like this line is included with every new Elephone release. And once it get’s reviewed this line is left out lol.

If they don’t come again with bezel -less design instead of true-bezel-less then the only design quirk I see is the huge camera bump in the back.
