Xiaomi has just said today that the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Pro Max will launch outside China this month but they gave no date, country list or prices yet. Leaks are the only things we can use now, and other news are mixed. The phones keep their chips and their rear screen, but the batteries shrink and the European prices look high, much higher then the chines prices, and that for an even smaller battery. But Last year’s Xiaomi 17 Pro never left China, so maybe it might be worth it, since we dont know if another pro model will launch global again.

What Stays the Same

The global phones keep the same chips as the Chinese ones, so atleast something stays. The Pro uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, and the Pro Max uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 ,both also run HyperOS 4, and the camera system also carries over, with dual 200MP Leica cameras. The headline feature stays too. The rear AMOLED screen measures 2.7 inches on the Pro and 2.9 inches on the Pro Max, according to reports, and the series adds a privacy screen option.

What Gets Smaller

The batteries shrink in Europe. The Pro drops from 7,000mAh to 6,000mAh, about 14 percent less. The Pro Max falls from 8,500mAh to 7,050mAh, about 17 percent less. Wired charging on the Pro drops from 100W to 90W, while the Pro Max keeps 100W. Both keep 50W wireless charging. Reports say European energy labels back up these numbers. Xiaomi has not explained these cuts yet.

What It Will Cost

Italian retailer Epto lists the Pro at €1,398.90 with 256GB and €1,591.90 with 512GB. It lists the Pro Max at €1,783.90. An earlier leak put the starting prices at €1,449 and €1,849. Last year’s Xiaomi 17 started at €999, so the entry Pro costs about 40 percent more. One report says the 512GB Pro Max matches Apple’s European price for the iPhone 18 Pro Max. In China, the Pro starts at 5,999 yuan (about $845) and the Pro Max at 6,999 yuan (about $986) that would be almost a double in price for the global market based on the italian listing.

Who Can Buy It

Reports expect Europe, the Americas and the Middle East, but a US launch is not confirmed. Buyers should wait for reviews of the global version, because its battery and charging differ from the Chinese phones tested so far.
