Xiaomi began rolling out the stable version of HyperOS 4 in China on October 15. The update is based on Android 17 and was first unveiled on August 13, with beta testing starting the following day.
The rollout is happening in stages, so not every eligible device will receive the update at once. Leaker Experience More reported on Weibo that his Xiaomi 17 Ultra and REDMI K100 Pro Max have already received it.

Which Xiaomi Devices Get HyperOS 4 First?

The first wave covers selected Xiaomi 17 and REDMI models, along with Xiaomi Pad 8 tablets. The current list includes:
  • Xiaomi: Xiaomi 17 Ultra, 17 Pro Max, 17 Pro, and 17
  • REDMI: K100 Pro Max, K100 Pro, K90 Pro Max, and K90
  • Tablets: Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro and Xiaomi Pad 8
Some models also have special editions. Xiaomi plans to expand the rollout to more devices, although availability will depend on the model and rollout stage.
According to the reported schedule, a second wave is expected later in October. Xiaomi has not yet provided a complete timeline for every eligible device.

HyperOS 4 May Reduce Heat and Improve Performance

Experience More says he has used the HyperOS 4 beta since August and noticed several improvements over the past two months. He points to lower temperatures and fewer stutters during everyday use.
He also reports smoother performance during longer sessions and faster app launches after apps have been fully closed. The system reportedly does a better job of keeping apps active in the background, which could make switching between tasks feel smoother.

These are the impressions of one tester, not results from independent benchmarks. Background apps can still close when memory runs low or system settings require it, so the experience may vary between devices.
HyperOS 4 also changes the interface. Experience More highlights its glass-like elements and lighting effects, while Xiaomi has also pointed to further AI features and system optimizations.
More user reports and independent tests will be needed to establish how much the update improves performance in everyday use.

When Will HyperOS 4 Reach Global Devices?

Xiaomi has not announced a confirmed release date for the stable global version in the information cited so far.
The global beta program includes selected devices such as the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi 15 Ultra, Xiaomi 17T, and Xiaomi 17T Pro. However, access to a beta does not confirm when the stable update will arrive.
The global release could follow the Chinese rollout by several weeks, but that remains an estimate until Xiaomi publishes an official schedule. The company has also yet to confirm when each international model will receive the update.
As with any major system update, the first stable release may still contain bugs. Users outside China will need to wait for Xiaomi to confirm the rollout dates for their devices.
