Elephone S3 is already out of the presale period and first packages are already on their way to new owners. So should they really look forward to it and specifically the main camera ? We can try answer this question at least partially today, because Elephone provided for us few photo samples taken by the S3 so you can check them out. But first some boring specs.
The design piece Elephone S3 offers 5,2-inch display with FullHD resolution, octa-core MT6753 processor, 3 GB RAM, 16 GB of storage, 13 MPix main camera, 5 MPix front camera, 2100 mAh battery with fast charge support, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, fingerprint scanner, 4G support, full metal body and bezel-less design.
Now let’s zoom on the main camera, it’s a 13 MPix shooter with the Sony IMX135 sensor, which is hardly anything cutting edge considering it was used as the primary sensor for Samsung Galaxy S4 so a long time ago. Official Elephone documents are not revealing any more detailed info about the aperture or lenses so we have to live with just the subjective judgment.

All the sample photos were taken in broad daylight in the ideal light conditions so it’s hard to say how the camera will perform when the conditions worsen. Subjectivelly the pictures look good with quite rich details, but some of them seem to be not properly focused or the sensor itself has little problem with that. Colors look just about right, though subjectivelly i see a bit of the bluish tone in them. But again see and judge for yourself for now.
