MEIZU announces the EP-40 headphones

HONG KONG – March 16, 2012 – MEIZU has today announced the MEIZU EP-40 headphones, which combine high grade sound with the convenience of a wired remote control and microphone. Fitted in an innovatively designed, vinyl disc shaped packaging, the MEIZU EP-40 are the best sounding headphones from MEIZU yet; signifying the company’s commitment to quality accessories.

Gizchina News of the week

“Sound quality has been one of our main focuses ever since our music player era.” said Vincent Wan, marketing department manager at MEIZU. “MEIZU EP-40 features the unique High-speed Response Technology that helps reproduce your music the way it was intended to be heard. It combines an exquisite appearance with long-term wearing comfort so that it looks good, but more importantly, also feels good.”

The MEIZU EP-40 headphones can be used to control MEIZU smartphones such as the new MEIZU MX. One of the main focuses of Flyme OS, the operating system behind MEIZU’s smartphones, is in audio quality. Combining the best audio hardware and software, the Flyme Music app is not only slick and beautiful, but also the perfect companion for audio lovers; supporting lossless formats such as FLAC and APE out of the box through its Wolfson WM8958 chip. Using the controls found on the EP-40, one can control the Music player to play, pause, skip or forward tracks. In addition, the EP-40 remote also makes it easy to pick up and reject calls.

Designed after the iconic red and black vinyl disc that has been a part of the Flyme OS music player app since 2008, the EP-40 packaging raises the bar for the headphone industry’s product design standards. Just as its packaging resembles a vinyl disc, the MEIZU EP-40 will provide the user with a CD-grade, high quality music listening experience.

Pricing and availability
The MEIZU EP-40 headphones with remote and microphone are available on March 31, 2012 in MEIZU’s four hundred retail stores across mainland China (269 CNY) and Hong Kong ($269 HKD). Consumers in mainland China also have the option to buy the headphones online via the official MEIZU website.
