If you have finally had it with the
JiaYu G3 and the continual
problems and delays you might be happy to know that the 2nd round of
UMi X1 preorders will begin tomorrow.
As we have reported before the
Umi X1 offers a similar specification to the JiaYu G3 only in a much thinner and better looking (in my opinion design) and a smaller
battery.
Other than that the
screen,
CPU,
RAM and Android OS is on the UMi
X1 is the same as the G3 but it appears you don't have to put up with constant delays and quality
problems with the UMi
phone.
Although UMi
X1 preorders are only open for those in
China, many online resellers are offering the
phone now, and with production well underway it shouldn't be to difficult for them to get stock of international customers. Also unlike the previous pre-order which was limited to just 20,000 phones, this pre-order is open and customers registering for the
phone should get one within 1-2 weeks.
For Chinese customers UMi are offering free shipping along with a free accessory bundle which includes a screen protector and case.
For those of you who are not familiar with the UMi X1 here is a quick run down of the specifications:
4.5 inch IPS
screen with a
HD resolution of 1280 x 720 and 326PPi, dual-core
MT6577 CPU, 1GB RAM, 4GB ROM, 8 mega-pixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, 2 mega-pixel front camera, 1750mAh
battery and a thin 8.5mm body! The price of the UMi
X1 in
China is 1099 Yuan ($173).
