Neo are sending out mixed and conflicting information regarding the soon to be released Neo N003. The official word sent to us is that the phone will be a 5-inch 720 device while Neo’s forums have posted a poll suggesting a 5.3-inch phone could be a possibility.
This weekend while I received a Wechat message from a contact from Neo stating that the N003 will come in two guises. A low-cost 1GB RAM 8GB ROM model and a high-end 2GB RAM, 32GB ROM model. Both phones will feature the quad-core MT6589 chip, 13 mega-pixel camera and 5-inch 720HD display.

However, Neo’s forums tell a different tale and are asking Neo fans to vote on a possible screen size. The forum thread here, claims that both a 5-inch full HD (1080) and 5.3-inch 720HD versions of the N003 are out in the field testing as we speak, but only one can go to market. The thread ends in a poll to ask which size members would prefer.
This doesn’t bold well for Neo’s claim launch date of the flagship N003 being later this month! So what are they playing at? Is this a stall tactic like the ones JiaYu deployed last year when they had problems with the G3, or is this just a way of hyping fans up and getting free media attention?

I do agree with you. For me 5″ is the top for a screen.
It looks like Neo N003 will be launched on 10 March as discussed on Neo forum.

Maybe 10 March next year if 4 days before they don’t know the screen size.
And 10 March is sunday in this year 2013.
I feel already tired with so many announces and nothing happening in reality: spy photos. renderings, rumors, forum discussions…
5.3″ at 720 ? Are they joking? No way. They would better go down 4.7″ at 1080 like HTC One, not the other way. Resolution is important not size (and 5″ is already big). What I hope to see is 5″ 1080 but with very narrow sides so the phone itself is almost all “screen” which will keep the size down. I’m sure somebody will be able to make soon a 5″ screen with the phone not bigger than current 4.7″ ones.

Andi are you mad at me ?! π π π Did you created that post because of my comments ? Ofcourse I’ll choose the 1080p but if the bezel is so big, I’ll preffer the 720p nif it has thinner bezel.
There’s a difference between what people WANT and what Neo management decides people will get based on cost & profit margins.
