Xiaomi's 3rd annual
MIUI festival is just about to kick-off but
news of their
new phones has already leaked and now we have specification
details of the
new entry-level Xiaomi M2A.
The Xiaomi M2A will take the place of the Xiaomi M1S. It
features a similar body design to the current Mi2 and
new M2S, but with a few hardware differences to keep the
cost down to a more affordable 1499 Yuan ($241).
That's not to say this
phone is an under performer though, as everything about the Xiaomi M2A looks spot on! Rather than a quad-core CPU, the M2A has a cheaper, but still very powerful, dual-core
Snapdragon 600
processor running a 1.7Ghz. The
phone is also rumoured to have an
updated 8 mega-pixel rear camera,
NFC,
HIFI audio and
MIUI V5.
The high light of the M2A though is the screen size which is oddly larger than the flagship Xiaomi M2S! The
new M2A is said to have a 4.5-inch 720p
display (326ppi) where as the Mi2 and M2S have a 4.3-inch
720 HD unit!
We'll have to wait a few hours to confirm that these details are accurate.
