The
iOcean X7 has only been on the market for a few months, but already a refresh is in the pipeline, one that
features a 1.5Ghz Mediatek
MT6589T Turbo processor!
UMi, JiaYu, Zopo and now
iOcean have all confirmed that their flagship
phones will be released with the more powerful Turbo MT658T SoC from Mediatek. It's not clear why such an early update is happening, but some suggest shortages of the standard
quad-core chip have forced manufacturers to fast forward through their roadmaps.
iOcean's updated
Turbo X7 will be named the
iOcean X7 Elite and
features not only the faster
quad-core chip but additional
RAM bringing the total up to
2GB. Internal memory has been boosted to 32GB ROM and the
rear camera is now a 13 mega-pixel sensor rather than the 8MP found on the Youth model.
Early Antutu Benchmarks show that the X7 Elite is going to be quite the performer with a score of 14,230, in spite of the 5-inch FHD 1080 display! iOcean have been pretty good for launching their phones shortly after leaks and announcements, let's hope they stay true to form with their latest handset!
