Is this a hat tip to the Xiaomi tablet launch? Xiaomi say no!

Yesterday evening Chinese tech sites were reporting that Xiaomi had sent out invitations to next week launch in tablet size boxes.

Last evening we were surprised to see that Chinese site iGeek had posted a photo of what they were claiming to be invitations to Xiaomi’s 5th September launch event packaged inside a suspiciously tablet shaped box!

We quickly contacted Xiaomi to ask why we hadn’t received one also and they replied quickly with:

Nice to hear that we haven’t been left out of the loop, but a little disappointed too. Still we will get to see if Xiaomi have a 7-inch tablet in the works next week in Beijing.
