Steve Wozniak drops by at the Xiaomi HQ; Reveals he’s a Xiaomi Mi3 user!

After ex-Google VP Hugo Barra, it is Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak who finds his way into the Xiaomi HQ!

Before you start making optimistic assumptions, let us tell you that it was a mere visit to the Xiaomi HQ for the veteran. Fresh Xiaomi recruit Hugo Barra posted a picture of Wozniak interacting with people at a Xiaomi event on his Facebook. Wozniak wasn’t empty handed — there was a piece of advice he had for the Chinese maker.

What was also learnt at the event was that Wozniak is now a Xiaomi Mi3 user. “Very emotional for me to be a part of Xiaomi now,” said Wozniak, referring to him being an Mi3 user. Assuming he uses the Mi3 in the US, it must’ve been quite a task getting his hands on a WCDMA Mi3, we say!

No matter how you look at it, it’s a huge thing for Woz to give a damn about Xiaomi, it means that Xiaomi is truly making an impact with its strategy. Wouldn’t expect anything less from ex-Googlers 🙂

yea and considering there are thousands of phones on the market, xiaomi being one of the 5-8 in a thousand is impressive

The US has GSM through ATT, T Mobile, Straight Talk, and many smaller pre paid companies.

I hope 2014 will be the year that Xiaomi up their game and produce quantity, as well quality in terms of the devices they produce. I’m sure the Xiaomi Mi3 WCDMA version is not as popular now as it could have been a few months ago. I’m sure Steve Wozniak has been gizmos to play with.

It’s not the way the do things though. One of the reasons they can keep costs low is due to the fact they don’t have a ton of stock just sitting collecting dust. They only produce what they know they will sell.

But by the time the 64GB version of the Mi3 is launched, technology will have moved on again, but then it will still be a great phone none the less.

It’s not the size of memory or the speed of the processor alone. The feeling of the buttons and materials, the looks, camera, the OS all add to the general impression you get from a phone.
