OPPO Neo now official; Packs 4.5″ screen, dual-core for $215

After a teaser only a day back, OPPO’s latest, the OPPO Neo has gone official and on sale in Indonesia for just $215!

Priced RpĀ 2,599,000 or an equivalent of about $215, the device is seen as an entry-level to mid-range device. As seen in yesterday’s teaser, the device will indeed have a 4.5-inch screen, with an FWVGA resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. OPPO has not outed info on RAM yet, but it is believed that a 512MB RAM module would go along the 1.3GHz dual-core processor under the hood. On the imaging front, the device is driven by a 5 mega-pixel rear in conjunction with a 2 mega-pixel front.

Like most OPPO phones that have taken shape lately, the OPPO Neo too will run on the company’s Android flavour of choice — ColorOS, based on Android v4.2 Jelly Bean. The device will be glove-friendly, allowing operation while wearing gloves. A 1900mAh battery would be supplying juice to the internals.

The OPPO Neo is only available in the Indonesian market for now, with no word on a release in other markets.

I think it is expensive. Opo employs aggressive marketing strategy in indonesia and unfortunately a lot of us indonesian do not know the real cutting-edge phone price from china.. šŸ™

I’ve never liked OPPO’s strategy with budget phones,I don’t think it’s changing any time soon either, because their excellent build quality lets them get away with it.

    “glove friendly” means resistive touchscreen?

No, capacitive with higher sensitivity. At least on this one šŸ™‚
