Cube will launch first octacore tablet running Mediatek MT8389 SoC

Cube have been doing quite well over the past 12 months with their range of “Talk” tablets, low-cost 3G enabled tablets which allow for voice calls. The next in the range will be an octacore model using the latest Mediatek octacore SoC.

Cube have leaked details that the new Cube Talk 69 will go on sale shortly for 1499 Yuan in China. The new 6.95-inch tablet packs in all the usual features we are use to seeing in flagship Mediatek phones, but on a much larger scale.

Gizchina News of the week

Cube are using a 1920 x 1200 resolution display on their octacore tablet, 2GB RAM , 16GB internal memory, SD card memory expansion, 13 mega-pixel main camera, and will be on of the first devices to run the octacore Mediatek MT8389 processor. The MT8389 is basically the same 1.7Ghz 8-core chip as the MT6592 but optimised for tablets.

It won’t be the same as MT6592 as that has a MALI GPU, this will have a PowerVR GPU
