Latest Oppo Find 7 teaser targets the Galaxy S5

oppo find 7 vs s5

Now that the Samsung Galaxy S5 is launched and we have all been disappointed by the specs its time to see what rival manufacturers think of the phone. The latest Find 7 teaser seems to suggest that Oppo have the S5 in their sights.

The Galaxy S5 was the talk of the rumour mill ahead of MWC, but now fans are disappointed. Critics have complained about the lack ouster update in hardware, the lack of innovation and the ugly design. This general lack of interest in the Galaxy S5 is going to mean rival manufacturers have a chance to step in and take up the slack, and Oppo think it is in for a chance.

Gizchina News of the week

The latest Oppo Find 7 teaser looks like Oppo are seeing the Galaxy S5 as a phone they can take on in the market. On paper this does seem to be the case as the Find 7 simply blows the S5 away on a hardware level.

What has been confirmed about the Oppo Find 7 is that it will have a 5.5-inch 2K (2560 x 1440) display, 4G LTE support, removable battery and SD memory card support for 128GB cards. From leaks the Find 7 should be getting a 2.26Ghz Qualcomm processor, Android 4.3 and internal memory of 32GB. Pricing is sure to be cheaper than an unlocked Galaxy S5 too!

Are Oppo biting off more than they can chew, or is the S5 dead in the water?

In terms of how good the phone will be, it’s probably going to leave the S5 in the dust. The best phone at the moment seems to be the Xperia Z2, which is just a minor upgrade from the Z1. HTC have yet to release the New One (M8), so can’t compare that yet, as well as the Huawei Ascend P7 and D3.

In terms of sales though, Samsung will probably take the lead, followed by HTC and Sony, Huawei, Nokia and finally Oppo. It’ll also be interesting to see what type of impact Meizu will have on the US market. They’ve really caught a lot of attention with the MX3, and they don’t seem to be backing down with Ubuntu phone and the rumored three versions of the MX4. It seems like they’ve finally managed to become exciting again.

They really shouldn’t have, when everybody knows that Samsung will release two versions of the S5, with the better one having specs like a 2K screen, metal construction, 2.5GHz quad core processor.
Pretty much, Oppo adopted this idea and are releasing their own two versions of the Find 7, as we all know. If they wanted to be better than the S5, they shouldn’t have put a lower spec processor in their better flagship, and go for 2.2GHz instead of 2.5. They should’ve gone for over 3GB of RAM. They should’ve gone for original, innovative features that other phones don’t have.
The only advantage us that it has a 5.5″ screen and apparently feels like it is only 5″. From the recent leaked pics on gizchina, this remains to be seen

Nobody knows if there’s going to be a different version of the Galaxy S5. The only thing pointing to this are rumors, and it’s highly unlikely that Samsung would show off a weaker version of their flagship at MWC instead of the, well, the flagship version? And we still don’t know the specifications of the flagship Find 7. Everything so far, other than Oppo’s teasers, is unofficial. Based on the current specifications, the Find 7 beats the S5 on a minor level. Whether everything else is better remains to be seen. No conclusions can made just yet.

I don’t care a china phone might have a .1 faster processor or not. What about size? Most of these china phones are heavier and LONGER then the samsung phones. sometimes almost an inch longer. Samsung is masters at delivering a light compact frame with the most features.

Why does everyone complain the reviews also about samsung phones being plastic? Samsung is smart to do that, plastic means LIGHT WEIGHT! Compare samsung S phones to other brands. There are very few phones that can match the light weight samsung phones.

I don’t want to care a long anchor in my pocket when I can have a phone I don’t even notice.

Also work in construction and I have dropped my galaxy phones 100’s of times on cement and only 1 time did I get crack in the phone.

Almost every china phone I have purchased has broken within a few months. I am sending zopo and a orientphone back this month to be repaired.

        I agree with you.
but if they want to compete with other brands, there is nothing for them to do, with their approximate rom not going anywhere, because it is not only the hardware but the software market and especially the Rom.
but they put themselves in competition with brands that fact (good or bad) have dev teams and real resources
oppo does not even beta test for some markets

i agree with you too, the hardware development on mobile device will slow down soon because you have more power than needed for everyday tasks and software will be even more important to be the buying argument
