$180 gets you a lot of phone if you go for the latest octacore Doogee Dagger DG550, a smartphone which hopes to steal away international buyers from the Xiaomi Redmi Note.

A few weeks ago Xiaomi wowed the smartphone industry with the Redmi Note, a 5.5-inch phone with octacore processor and 13 mega-pixel main camera. This time around though it hasn’t taken to long for other phone makers to release similar phones.

Full specifications of the Doogee Dagger DG550 haven’t been posted yet, but from a teaser posted on the official Doogee Facebook Page, we know the phone will pack a 5.5-inch panel and 1.7Ghz octacore chipset.

Gizchina News of the week

GizChina.es have learned that Doogee intend to sell the Dagger DG550 for just $180 making it one of the most affordable octacore smartphones on the market outside of China. Just how great the value of the Dagger will be remains to be seen once full specifications are announced.

$180 is international price or price in China? If that’s the international price, then it will most likely has a 720P screen. I would be surprised if it got a 1080p screen.
