iOcean X8 photo samples

Photo samples taken with the rear 14 mega-pixel camera of the iOcean X8 phablet. What do you make of these images?

It goes without saying that the iOcean X8 is a fine-looking phablet, and with an octacore processor and 2GB RAM , we have no doubt performance will be up to scratch too. But what about camera performance? iOcean have spec’d the X8 with a 5 mega-pixel front auto-focus sensor, so selfies should come out rather well, the rear camera though is an odd choice of 14 mega-pixel sensor with smaller than average f2.2 aperture. The aperture size is the critical element here, while most companies go for 2.0 or even 1.9, F2.2 is a little on the small side, but does this affect overall image quality? We’ll let you be the judge of that.

Such photos can be made by any 13mp sensor, we can’t see real situation from this samples. I can see a lot of noise at this photo ,we have no info about ISO, focus accuracy, distortions of lens e.t.c . Lets wait for real samples made in real conditions.

F2.2 would give better sharpness. But all depends on software. Any manufacturer can make good software with some tweaks like multishot noise reduction ,noise profile, distortion correction. Why not? Even 8mp bsi sensor could give nice result
