China Mobile customers wanting a high-end, large Xiaomi phone can now purchase the top of the range Redmi Note in China.

When Xiaomi announced the 5.5-inch Redmi Note, two versions of the phone were promised but only the entry-level 799 Yuan model with 1GB RAM and 1.4Ghz processor went on sale. A staggered launch has always been part of Xiaomi’s launch style and now China Mobile users can now opt for the 2GB RAM, 1.7Ghz octacore Redmi Note for 999 Yuan.

Customers outside of China remain in suspense and hold on for 15th May where they hope WCDMA 3G versions of the large Redmi phone will finally go on sale.
