Additional colour options of the Xiaomi Redmi 1S will be available for Chinese customers starting from next week.

Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun, has confirmed that new colour options for the Xiaomi Redmi 1S will be made available to Chinese Redmi customers beginning next week, 10th June. In a move which is becoming more common for the Beijing based company, the sale of the candy coloured 1S will be an “open sale” meaning anyone has the chance to buy one of the phones, but will have to move fast to beat the rush.

The decision to launch on the 10th June incidentally coincides with Oppo’s 4G conference.

The Xiaomi Redmi 1S candy edition will come in either Lemon Yellow or Candy Pink and both China Mobile (TD-SCDMA) and China Unicom (WCDMA) models will be up for grabs.

I was thinking to buy that phone in black color before changing my mind after I have seen that some people are having big issues with the dual sim using 2 sim cards (only one IMEI for both slots) such as connectivity and network loss. I really wish that Xiaomi will fix that bug in the near future.
