Lenovo planning more than 60 new phones!

With Lenovo buying Motorola we knew they were serious about smartphones but launching 60 new models seems a little excessive!

Reports claim that Lenovo will be making up for dwindling PC sales by increasing their smartphone market share. How do they plan to do that? Well by launching 60 new phones that’s how!

Most of the new phones will be low to mid-range phones with 2G or 3G for the local Chinese market, but there will be a few LTE equipped models such as the monstrous Lenovo K920 with 2K display we can look forward to.

Interestingly the 60 new phones don’t include what Lenovo have planned for Motorola!

Do you think Lenovo’s plan to launch more phones will succeed?

lol Oneplus can’t produce enough of a single phone model and lenovo is looking to launch 60. Face it, the oneplus one is just a marketing tool from oppo designed to destabilise xiaomi and meizu I haghly doubt they plan to release more the 20 thousand units of that phone.

eh. This is a piece about Lenovo. Not oneplus. Also there is a significant difference in the size of either of these companies.

I fully agree with you, but as @lollingtons says, this is an article on Lenovo 🙂

Can not give advice to Lenovo, it is a BIG company–but dear Lenovo, introducing 60 New phones will be like asking a bull to come & gore your stomach, i think the whole idea is nothing short of Stupid! To really succeed in Mobile market -Lenovo needs to introduce just 10 New Models, from lowly $ 50 everyman phone to a real flagship in range of $ 350.with 2k display and all bells and whistles and each should actually be the best in Class & Cut all hype. With its manufacturing and marketing muscle, Lenovo can take this sensible route, or get burdened with 60 New Phones and thus get a portfolio, which even head of Lenovo Mobile would not be familiar with !!

I don’t understand what the need for 60 different phones is though… Surely if they released 10 distinct models each with their own ‘special’ features and specs that’d be more of a hit than 60 phones of similar styling and spec..?

Nooooooo.. …. pls Lenovo don’t start flooding us with crappy smartphones! We have Samsung for that =)). Hope that the folks at Lenovo would release like 10-15 models (spec wise and for the right price) and support them (update+bug fixes)
