Updated: Its a fake @evleaks latest points at OnePlus Tab Android tablet

The “leak” has been confirmed as a hoax. OnePlus have made a statement saying that they are not working on a tablet and @evleaks has confirmed the screenshot was a hoax:

When it comes to OnePlus and especially the OnePlus One, which is the start-up’s first smart phone, opinions are split. Some love it, some hate it. The reason some hate it? Disappointment after disappointment, delay after delay, mistakes after mistakes. Bad news around the once so hyped Chinese startup do not seem to find an end.

Gizchina News of the week

In the past @evleaks have been privvy to some interesting details from OnePlus with the first leak from the tipster being a photo of the actual OnePlus One packaging ahead of the launch. Today on Twitter he struck again with an alleged screenshot of the OnePlus homepage with navigation for a product called “OnePlus Tab”.

This does sound like OnePlus are expanding their range of products to include and Android tablet. If this is true it likely be the first tablet to launch with CyanogenMod, and will probably go up against the MiPad.

But is a OnePlus tablet really what fans want? Just this past week OnePlus claimed that production problems were part of the reason for the latest delay, do they really want to stretch capacity further?

And you’d have to jump off a cliff, record it and send to One Plus One overlord to get the privilige of getting an invite to buy the damn thing.

If so they had better delay ‘launch’ until they have sorted out current mess or no amount of hyperbole will save their band – Can’t help but wonder if are they perceived with the same amount of scepticism in China as they are now now shown by the international tech community?
