2K IUNI U3 to get a Mediatek MT6595 processor?

The IUNI U3 could be the first flagship phone to go for a Mediatek processor over the more popular Snapdragon options.

Another IUNI U3 teaser published just moments ago could be the first hint at what processor the U3 smartphone will be running and it doesn’t look like it will be a Qualcomm chip!

The teaser which simply says “2 x 4” is obviously hinting at an octacore set up which runs in a big.LITTLE configuration. Basically this means that when the phone is asked to do simple tasks the 4 x little cores run, then when more processing is required the big side of the chipset goes in to work.

Gizchina News of the week

Looking at what octacore chips with big.LITTLE are currently available, this would mean that IUNI would either choose Samsung Exynos processors or the next generation Mediatek MT6595 processor. Previous teasers have revealed the IUNI U3 with have a 5.5-inch 2K display, and we expect the phone to sell for just 1999 Yuan, meaning the MT6595 would be the perfect choice.

If this is the case then will IUNI be the first to launch an MT6595 phone on the market? Meizu are also rumoured to be launching a MT6595 phone as are Zopo and a few other phone makers. The race is now on!
