More IUNI U3 teasers plus a few renders

IUNI are pushing out more teasers for their upcoming flagship phone, one that will have a 5.5-inch display but only take up the size of a 5-inch phone!

IUNI started this week with teasers of the IUNI U3 running a 2K display, now we have learned the display size will be a 5.5-inch model, but the size of the phone will be that of a standard 5-inch device. On the surface this looks like a great promise, but in reality does not really give us an idea of the width of the new IUNI U3 phone.

OnePlus also used a similar comparison in the run up to the OnePlus One launch, however they used the rather wide Sony Xpeira Z1 in their comparison, a thick phone by any 5-inch phone standards. Still we have hope that IUNI will be offering their new smartphone with ultra-narrow bezels, or could actually go bezel-less.

Renders have also been produced based on what little details we know of the U2. The will be full alloy, as it was in the U2, but with a slight curve to the shape for better comfort. The phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 801 processor with 3GB RAM.

Let’s just hope that IUNI OS has an English language option this time round.

Blech! Now, why would they make a phone in that colour? Unless they intend to sell in other colours too.

Lets hope it will turn out better than the U2. I have it, and I would happily give up the metal body for a bigger battery. The OS also needs improvement. It forces itself to switch to english when you insert english SIM, but it breaks quite a few features of the phone including the built in settings and messaging.

      Hey Rob
How did you get one with English rom? I’ve been looking for one for a while

I just inserted my English sim card when the phone is off, and when I switched it on it was in english, but a lot of the settings did not work anymore and messaging only force closed. Luckily I had already turned all the annoying touch sounds off. I guess once you root it there are alternative settings apps.

It’s possible since there are already 5″ with the body of 5.5″ (lots of them), so the benchmark is very loose.

Wrong way round there fella… Supposed to be …there are already 5.5″ with the body of 5″…

And again ‘body of 5″‘ is a loose benchmark, you can make a 5″ phone bigger than 6″ if you want.

It’s easy to make phone with bigger screen than 5″ if you aim for Xperia Z1 for example since that phone is bloated, now try cramming 5.5″ on TCL Idol X or Jiayu S2 chassis.
