Zopo’s LTE flagship to be updated ZP998?

Zopo have been teasing their next flagship phone for sometime, and now a leaked image of the rear hints that it could be based on the current Zopo ZP998.

The Zopo ZP998 launched late last year, and was one of the first octacore Mediatek MT6592 smartphones to be seen by the public. Zopo could be possibly on for another first as their new flagship phone is said to be based on the octacore MT6595 with integrated LTE support.

Gizchina News of the week

Zopo had posted images of their new phone in the past, and we had a feeling it would be based on the current ZP998, now a photo of the rear of the phone seems to confirm this.

What we know from leaks is that the new phone will be called the Small Black X in China and that it could feature 3GB RAM. If it is based on the ZP998 that would mean a display size of 5.5-inch and a resolution of at least 1920 x 1080.

The Zopo ZP998 is actually a nice feeling phone in the hand, but various issues have arising from poor microphone to bugs in the ROM. Let’s hope that Zopo have fixed these issues.

If they at least put a 3000mAh battery, the first 998 sucks because of bad battery life, like most of the firsts Octa from last year, and also the camera, actually the 13MP units are more easy to get this year from before.

And “Small Black X” stands for small bezel, right?!
