WOW that’s great news if the phone with these specs is confirmed! I wish they will build the phone with a 3000mAh replaceable battery. That’s exactly the type of phone I am looking for! Fingers crossed!

The Adreno 405 GPU of the Snapdragon 615 is between Adreno 320 and 330. Nothing for 2015. For a little more money you will find good “old” Flagship Phones with much better Specs like S800 or S801 for a reduced price.

Z ultra also sold for around $350 here in my country. probably the cheapest snapdragon 801 beast you can actually get.

my brother with his ZR piece of shit and his friend with Z, both phones with those problems , Sony never reply with their SONY CARE.
Do you want a source, just put on google “SONY ZR,Z1,Z2 WiFi drops out or no Bluetooth, no NFC”
or Just “Sony ZR problems” you will find many pages with issues and most of them with no solutions.
My source? directly I said to my brother “Buy ZR is a little cheaper than Z1 and waterproof!” now I am flashing the crap once a month because lost WiFi.
              NFC and Bluetooth are dead.
              Cool uh?!

Not everyone buys a phone for the GPU. Personally I don’t play any games on my computer I have a tablet and a computer for that. The closest real flagships that you will find that will match the quality of a Xioami is the One Plus One. Assuming you can actually buy that phone for retail it’s still $50 more, that can be more than “a little” for some people.

meh, spec sheet is not an issue, the 615 is good enough for a low to mid range device, but would have preferred a smaller size like 4.7 inch with slimmer bezels. Will be quite chunky I imagine

Redmi 1S is Xiaomi entry level phone at entry level price. It’s successor Redmi 2 has to have better specs at the same old price..for the successor Redmi 2 to succeed as much Redmi 1s. Hence the price point of CNY 1499 seems too much. Redmi 2 will be more likely to be a CNY 999 Phone.

    • balcobomber25
      November 4, 2014

Every new phone that comes out costs more than its successor for the simple reason that they use newer and more expensive parts. Very rarely do they sell one cheaper or the same.

Yhe Redmi 1S is being sold for INR 5999 in India tbat is CNY 599..So an upgraded Redmi at 65% more is quite reasonable price to expect..after all Redmi 2 is also going to be the introductory phone for Xiaomi. Unless, the Redmi 2 becomes mid level.

RedMi 1S is already losing steam in India because the users have already the phones, and releasing Redmi 2 now in India would be suicide, it would be best (for xiaomi) to first sell RedMi note for a month and then go to selling their flagship phone Mi4 at sub 20K price, and then come with “lower end” Redmi 2 phone after few months. Ideally Redmi 2 if it comes to India by May 2015 would be ideal as that would allow the user who are happy with Redmi 1S to go for the new Redmi 2

The rule of the game is that Redmi is lower end device from Xiaomi, and users will not change phones in few months (need at least 6 months and need it to be affordable) so the RedMi 1S users would either go for Mi4 or stay put and then go for Redmi 2 when its available after May 2015, also if there is some sort of exchange offer for Redmi 1S users then it could be ideal for Xiaomi Redmi 1S users to migrate from Redmi 1S to Redmi 2

I am praying for thin bezels, make it happen Xiaomi just like the Mi4. I am also waiting for the Meizu entry level phone, hopefully they will also release it this year.

How much does the Mi3 currently costs in China? 1499 yuan? Is the Snapdragon 800 CPU better than Snapdragon 615 or not?

Coolpad F2 has the same CPU I believe and it is costing only 999 yuan (of course the screen resolution is lower and perhaps also other things).

      Select on the right:
      – Android (and iOS)

      – ARM
      – GPU
Than you will see the level of Adreno (TM) 405 (= GPU of Snapdragon 615) 🙁

Really depends where you buy it in China, I have seen it for around $270 US to as low as $230 at some shops in Beijing.

You con’t compare on price alone as the Xioami has much better software than the Coolpad.

The Redmi 1S is a very good phone for the price. It has some downsides (does run kind of hot) but overall you will be very satisfied with the phone. It is one of the best selling phones in the world for a reason.

I would certainly not agree. Xiaomi would not do this as it would impact MI4 . How ever These specs are good for MI4 Mini. Redmi will probaly have snapdragon 615 , 1.5G ram followed by HD display /Amoled display(not sure) but will stck to 4.7 inch size with dual sim ,yes not to forget color options for chinese new year and of course LTE

i would love a redmi note 4g but with a 5 inch screen. A new redmi with a 5 inch 720p, snapdragon 615, 2gb ram,3000+ battery, micro sd, nfc, with a price between 1s and mi3 would be fantastic:)
