Analysts believe a $130 Meizu phone is heading to market

Chinese tech analysts believe that Meizu are ready to take on Huawei and Xiaomi in the entry-level turf wars with a 799 Yuan smartphone.

Sources in the Chinese tech industry say the Meizu are readying a 799 Yuan Android phone that will rival the popular Xiaomi Redmi, and Huawei Honor phones. This is not the first time we have heard such a rumour, and we originally heard about a phone if this description last year called the Meizu Blue Charm.

Gizchina News of the week

With investment from Alibaba, Meizu certainly have the money and the drive to launch a larger range of devices the when would such a low cost phone launch? If we see a low-cost Meizu tomorrow it would be a huge surprise for everyone!

If Meizu were to launch an entrylevel phone it would likely be a smaller device with one of the new 64bit Mediatek LTE chipsets on board. Let’s wait and see what the Zhuhai phone maker have planned.
