Next gen Zopo to be released on 25th December with OIS

zopo launch ois

The date is set and another possible feature has been revealed for Zopo upcoming device!

Zopo are being rather mysterious about their forthcoming Android device, hinting only that the phone will be designed with photography in mind. So far Zopo teasers have told us to keep an eye on the camera specs of their unnamed device and that the launch will be sometime this month.

This morning the above image was posted on various social platforms with a date of 25th December, so Christmas day is when we can expect the next generation Zopo phone.

Gizchina News of the week

In Chinese the image says something along the lines of “pressing the shutter won’t create shake”. In our opinion this points directly to OIS, optical image stabilisation, a feature seen on plenty of flagship phones but not generally seen on Mediatek devices.

That said we cannot be sure the new Zopo will have a Mediatek chip! All we know for sure is that the phone will have a 64bit chipset, and that could either be an MT6752 or possible (but not likely) a Snapdragon 615, either way it is going to mean LTE too.

What do you hope for from the next generation Zopo productions?

I use to love my zopo C2, I hated the GPS problems and poor support. Hope this new phone is going to be something different.

I must say i have a Zopo C2 with YunOS and it’s great. The android vanilla rom that it shipped with used to suck a lot, that’s because the phone was meant to use the YunOS ROM. After i flashed it with gapps, it’s a great device now. Camera still sucks for an 13mpx sensor tho. Gps works fine!
