Oppo R1C officially launched in China, rumoured specifications prove to be largely accurate.

The Oppo R1C was officially announced in China via Oppo’s social networks and official website today, revealing the final specifications, release date and pricing for the mid ranger.

Oppo seem to have created a more affordable option to the Oppo R5 in the R1C, with a slim design, the same Snapdragon 615 processor, more cost-effective hardware.

Gizchina News of the week

Costing 2499 Yuan in China, and available to buy from January 20th, the Oppo R1C offers users 2GB RAM, 5-inch 720p display, 16GB internal memory (and SD card expansion), LTE, 2420mAh battery, 5 mega-pixel rear camera and 13 mega-pixel front.

A slim body of just 6.85mm makes the device comfy enough even for the tightest of jeans and a Sapphire crystal back panel gives the phone some well needed bling.

No information if Oppo will be bringing the R1C to markets outside of China, but it will likely be available through resellers.

It’s an entry level phone that stutters like crap, not a mid-ranger by any means.

I just don’t know how Oppo are still going… OnePlus showed the big-bosses that if you make something with decent spec and sell it cheaper, it will sell.

    Have they not learnt anything!?

You realize that the OPO is sold with 1$ profit? Their next phone will be priced like the competition, if not even higher because they now have a name + make up for the costs of the first one.

You actually believe that $1 profit stuff? Maybe at the start of it all ye, but long ago they well have proven themselves to be a fantastic customer with all of the component manufactures that they use and would have struck up a very sweet deal by now! As time has gone on the profit margin will have significantly increased…

Opo belong to BBK, the same company that owns oppo and vivo. So since since oppo and vivo make expensive phones i think OPO will still sell cheap phones even if they increase the prices
