Oppo Find 7 price cut in China could mean Oppo Find 9 soon

oppo find 7 price cut

After almost 12 months on sale, Oppo have just cut the price of their flagship Find 7. Could the Oppo Find 9 launch soon?

It was around this time last year when Oppo released the Oppo Find 7, which later became the base of the OnePlus One. The Find 7 is still a capable phone, but compared to newer models the price is high and specifications aren’t once what they were.

With a year in the market Oppo are probably very close to replacing the Find 7 with a new model, in fact we have already seen purported leaks of the Find 9 screen.

Another clue that the Oppo Find 9 is on the way is today’s Fine 7 price cut. Customers in China can now buy the Find 7 499 Yuan cheaper than the original retail price.

Both the Find 7 and Find 7a have been cut in price, similar price cuts might be seen in official Oppo resellers online also.

The Oppo Find 9 is rumoured to be a 5.5-inch phone with Snapdragon 810 processor, updated skyline notification and VOOC.

What is ‘skyline notification and VOOC’?!

Skyline notification is Oppos unique notification light, instead of the conventional led that most use, they have a bar of light that pulsates beautifully (I’m surprised nobody copied this…)

VOOC is basically super fast charging…

I wouldn’t say it is unique to Oppo, Sony Experia U and SP models had it. πŸ™‚

Ahh yes, I forgot about them… Ok, unique to Chinese phones then..? πŸ™‚

I hope they will make it more compact, because these bezels are too big. Not compact body is only one reason, which is holding me from buying OPPO or OPO phones.

Jumping to conclusions a little bit here, it is a cut for the Chinese new year after all.
Obviously we should see some new flagship at some point soonish but this cut can’t be interpreted as a hint at that just you wouldn’t do so with an Xmas price cut.

It’s a common practice that all manufacturers make arount the time of a new phone. A Christmas price drop for the Find 7 would also have been a method to get rid of stock in time for the Find 9. This price drop actually comes close to the Chinese Spring Festival, a perfect time for drying up stock of old products in time for the new one.

Nice phone, but the battery life is a major downside. I don’t want to have to carry around a battery pack to just get by a single day of use.

It;s a 499 yuan discount. But 499 is about all these crappy phones are worth. I’ve owned 3 OPPO’s they were all the same story: beautiful to look at, great features on paper, horrible OS, more problems than North Korea.
